Extremely basic, this “flare” is just dry rocket candy with a tiny magnesium ribbon. Since magnesium burns hot and bright, this was done on asphalt with sand nearby to put out the metal fire. I wouldn’t recommend doing anything like this because it’s useless and dangerous. This isn’t anything like a flare, either.
