This device is scarily easy to make. A simple 9v battery hooked up to a basic transformer, called a “boost step-up power module” on Amazon, creates a handheld device capable of producing a decent-sized arc of high-voltage electricity. I used a 9v, a transformer, a 9v belt connector, a push button, a hot glue gun, and some nails and tape. It isn’t recommended to make a device like this without safety equipment, but it’s incapable of doing much more than a painful shock.
